Near East University and Ege University have joined forces!

Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, who is in Turkey to attend the “Aegean Career Fair 2025 Launch and Preparation Workshop” carried out by Manisa Celal Bayar University with the support of Manisa Governorship, Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Manisa Organized Industrial Zone, also visited Ege University and made contacts.

Near East University, which continues to expand its international academic collaborations, has signed an academic collaboration protocol with Ege University, one of Turkey’s well-established universities. Joint projects will be developed in education, research and cultural activities within the scope of the protocol signed between the two universities.

The protocol signed by Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ and Ege University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak aims to develop joint projects in education, research and cultural activities. Student and academician exchange programs will be implemented within the scope of the agreement and scientific productivity will be supported with interdisciplinary research and doctoral projects.

On the other hand, joint seminars, conferences and workshops will be organized to increase the sharing of knowledge and experience between the two universities. In addition to scientific cooperation, cultural activities will also be encouraged to strengthen academic and social ties.


Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: “Increasing diversity in education, deepening our scientific research with an interdisciplinary approach and providing more opportunities to our students are among the main goals of this cooperation.”

Stating that the protocol signed with Ege University has a special meaning for him, Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “As the Rector of Near East University, I am honored to visit Ege University, where I stepped in as a student and graduated exactly 40 years ago.” Stating that the protocol we signed will create a platform that will enable both institutions to be more effective and productive at the international level, Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ said, “Increasing diversity in education, deepening our scientific research with an interdisciplinary approach and providing more opportunities for our students are among the main goals of this collaboration. At the same time, we will bring different perspectives together through cultural events and thus enrich the academic and social environment.”

Ege University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak stated that they attach great importance to international scientific collaborations and said, “We are strengthening our scientific and academic collaborations with many countries, especially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Turkish World.” Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak also said, “The protocol we signed with Near East University will increase the scientific productivity of both universities and open new horizons for our students and academics. This protocol will bring both universities to a stronger position on a global scale.”
