A morale event for earthquake female survivors was organized in cooperation with the Near East University and the Social Services Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security

In the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake that took place on February 6 in Turkey, 11 cities were devastated and hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless. Many earthquake survivors came to their relatives living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to heal the wounds of the earthquake they experienced.

In cooperation with the Near East University and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security Social Services Department, a morale event was organized for earthquake female survivors on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Day. In the event held in the training workshop of the Near East University Vocational School Hair Care and Beauty Services Department on campus, hair and beauty treatments such as haircuts, dyes, blow dryers, manicures, permanent nail polish, eyebrow removal and skin care were carried out for more than 20 earthquake-affected women.

Minister of Labor and Social Security Hasan Taçoy also attended the event organized in cooperation with the Social Services Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. While many women attended the event with their children, Minister Taçoy took care of the children and chatted.

Reminding that they organize free hair care and beauty treatments for women on March 8, International Women’s Day every year, Near East University Vocational School Hair Care and Beauty Services Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeşim Üstün Aksoy said, “This year, on March 8, International Women’s Day, we organized an event for our earthquake survivors.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aksoy also said, “We wanted to be with our earthquake survivors and make them smile a little.”
