A Graduation Ceremony that was held in a festive atmosphere…The Fall Term Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was held

It was announced that the Fall Term Graduation Ceremony of the Academic Year 2018-2019 of the Near East University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was recently held.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the ceremony was held at Grand Library Hall 4 and Vice Rector of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Fahreddin Sadıkoğlu, Dean of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Şerife Zihni Eyüboğlu, Department Heads, NEU Academicians, guests and students attended the graduation ceremony which was held in a festive atmosphere.

It was expressed that the ceremony began with a minute’s silence in memory of Great Leader Atatürk and all those who sacrificed their lives for our country, followed by the national anthem. Then, a musical performance was made by the academician of Atatürk Faculty of Education, Department of Music Teaching, İlyas Abdullin. Additionally, a performance was also made by the dance group of Near East University Health, Culture and Sports Office; which added a nice zest to the ceremony. Subsequently, speeches were made by Dean of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Şerife Zihni Eyüpoğlu and also by Hazal Özyükselen and Munis İbadov.

Prof. Dr. Eyüpoğlu: "We will continue to provide support to our graduates even after their graduation…"
The opening speech of the graduation ceremony was done by Dean of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Şerife Zihni Eyüpoğlu. In her speech, she provided information about the history of the Faculty and pointed out that the faculty began its educational services with a total of two departments; business administration and computer informatics. She emphasised that currently, there were a total of 14 departments and thousands of students studying at the Faculty.

In addition to the above, Prof. Dr. Eyüpoğlu stated that the education offered at the faculty had two main languages of instruction, Turkish and English. She added that there were 5 programmes which were accredited by international institutions and expressed that Business, Banking and Finance, International Relations programs were accredited by FIBA; whereas Computer Informatics program was accredited by ASIN. Thus, she expressed that the accreditation of such prestige institutions were a true reflection of the quality of education offered at the faculty. Also, she stressed that the Faculty aimed to train graduates who are able to meet the needs of national markets and have the characteristics to compete in the world. Prof. Dr. Şerife Zihni Eyüpoğlu ended her words by congratulating the graduands and assured that the faculty will be providing them support in the future as well.

Hazal Özyükselen: “We are commencing our professional lives fully equipped with the skills and knowledge required…”
Addressing the students, Hazal Özyükselen stated that with their well deserved diplomas to be awarded that day, they were ready to begin a new life. She said that their diploma was a well worth consequence of the hard work they had put in and that they were very proud and happy about this. She said that making the speech on that day was her dream come true and added that their graduation day as a beginning to a new life. She emphasised that they were grateful to all the academicians of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences for equipping them with the skills and knowledge required in their field; and added that in the future, and through each experience they lived through, their memory of their university will always be on their minds. She also thanked families for providing full support, including psychological and/or financial support throughout their higher education lives. She ended her words by wishing everyone the best of luck in the future.

The students gave a concert…
Following the speeches, the students gave a mini concert that was highly liked by the guests. Then the graduands were awarded their diplomas and the ceremony ended subsequent to throwing the graduation caps in the air.
