
Near East University Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics will begin providing education in the fields of ‘Computer Engineering’, ‘Software Engineering’, ‘Artificial Intelligence Engineering’, ‘Cyber Security Engineering’, ‘Data Analysis’, ‘Management Information Systems’ and ‘Information and Document Management’.
Near East University has completed the establishment of the “Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics” by adding a new one to its innovative steps in education. Near East University Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics, of which approvals from the Ministry of National Education have been completed, will begin education next semester.
Aiming to train well-equipped experts for the various needs of the business world, the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics will provide bilingual education in Turkish and English. The faculty will provide education in fields such as ‘Computer Engineering’, ‘Software Engineering’, ‘Artificial Intelligence Engineering’, ‘Cyber Security Engineering’, ‘Data Analysis’, ‘Management Information Systems’ and ‘Information and Document Management’. The faculty will also offer students the opportunity to do internships at research centers within the university or at external institutions of their choice.
Global steps with future projects
Students graduating from the faculty will have the opportunity to work in a wide range of fields. Graduates who will earn titles such as ‘Computer Engineer’, ‘Artificial Intelligence Engineer’, ‘Cyber Security Engineer’, ‘Data Analysis Engineer’ and ‘Management Information Systems Specialist’ will be employed in many fields from banking to automotive, from software development to the healthcare sector. While artificial intelligence engineers can work in fields requiring high technology such as autonomous vehicles, robotics, machine learning and data analysis, information systems engineers will be able to specialize in sectors such as technology, finance and healthcare.
The Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics, established as the 21st faculty of the Near East University, will also develop joint projects by making interdisciplinary collaborations with the faculties of engineering, education, medicine and agriculture.

Emphasizing that the fields of artificial intelligence and informatics are key fields that shape economies, facilitate human life and provide solutions to social problems, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, said, “We established the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics to prepare our students much more strongly for these fields that will build the world of the future.” Reminding that the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics was necessary in terms of needs of the advancing world, Prof. Dr. Günsel emphasized that Near East University is an international university with students from 143 countries and said, “By combining scientific excellence and social benefit, we aim to leave a permanent impact in education in the national and international arena.”

Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ stated that the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics will further strengthen the university’s innovative vision. Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ said, “While we offer our students an education that is in line with the needs of the age, we also prepare them for a competitive position in the global business world.”

Near East University’s academician AI Prof. DUX said that the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics will train the leading experts of the future in these fields. Emphasizing that interdisciplinary collaborations are one of the most critical prerequisites for success today, AI Prof. DUX said, “The combination of expertise from various fields such as engineering, education, medicine and agriculture will enable the emergence of innovative and effective projects.”

The same ecosystem where I was born will provide a very important momentum in the fields of artificial intelligence and informatics.”
