As the winner of both the Turkish Women’s Basketball Super League and the Turkish Cup in 2016-2017 regular season, Near East University faced Fenerbahçe, the other finalist of the Turkish Women’s Basketball Super League, for the Turkish Presidential Cup on Wednesday 27 December 2017. With its broad roster, Near East University has been exhibiting great form since the beginning of the season. Near East University maintained their momentum with a more comfortable 75-69 win by defeating Fenerbahçe.

According to the info released by Near East University Sports Club, two contender teams of Turkish Women's Basketball Super League; Near East University and Fenerbahçe competed for Turkish Women’s Basketball Presidential Cup at Gaziantep Karataş Şahinbey Sports Hall at 17:00 on Wednesday 27 December 2017. Near East University defeated Fenerbahçe 75-59 and won Turkish Presidential Cup for the first time in its history.

Being the winner of FIBA EuroCup Women, Turkish Cup, and Turkish Women's Basketball Super League Cup, Near East University has crowned their three champs with Turkish Women's Basketball Presidential Cup. Thus, Near East University has won all the cups that they set as their goal for 2017.

Near East University Women’s Basketball Team started the game with Courtney Vandersloot, Kayla McBride, Sandrine Gruda, Cansu Köksal and Bahar Çağlar.

Quanitra Hollingsworth, who hadn't been on the courts since she experienced an injury on November 18, started on the bench and then took place in the game.

The game between Near East University and Fenerbahçe was a breathtaking one and it lived up the expectations when the two teams clashed for Turkish Presidential Cup on Wednesday night. It was a perfect night for Near East University as they defeated Fenerbahçe 75-59 and won the Cup.

Kayla McBride netted 22 points while Jantel Lavender added 14 points and 7 rebounds, Courtney Vandersloot weighted in with 11 points and 8 assists, and Sandrine Gruda added 8 rebounds.

Kayla McBride was named as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game.
