3 solo exhibitions consisting of 65 artworks of Kazakhstan artists Aytkali Zhaisanbayev, Botagoz Tolesh and Yergali Palymbetov, group exhibition consisting of 43 artworks of Kazakh artists Muldir Sagyndykova, Nurbek Zhardemov, Oralbek Kaboke, Altynshash Alpysbayeva and Salimgale Myrz'ev, and group exhibition consisting of 21 artworks of Azerbaijani artists Asmer Narimanbekova, Jamal Rahmanli and Rafael Aliyev were opened by Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the Near East University, the exhibitions consisting of 65 artworks of Kazakh artists and group exhibitions consisting of 64 artworks of Kazakh and Azerbaijani artists, all exclusively made for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, were opened at the Exhibition Hall of Near East University Hospital with the participation of Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy, Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Günsel, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, institute directors, deans, lecturers, artists and invited guests.

At the opening of the the exhibition, the Vice-Rector of the Near East University. Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Rafael Aliyev on behalf of Azerbaijani artists, Salimgali Myrzashev from Kazakhstan, Botagoz Tolesh, Aitkali Zhaisanbayev, Yergali Palymbetov, and Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy made speeches.

Cyprus Museum of Modern Art brings together artists from many countries
Near East University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ in his opening speech said, “Today we are together with artists from many countries within the scope of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts project providing freedom in creativity and uniting the world art in this geography, we are together at the opening of group and solo art exhibitions of Kazakh and Azerbaijani artists,”

Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ also referred to his previous speech and touched upon the academic studies of the university at CERN project, stating "In our previous remarks, we had informed that we would be involved in the CERN project, I announced that we had included the 3 research group leaders of CERN project in our academic staff, and we had started our studies to be involved in the CERN project with this group within 2 years. One of our researchers have already taken the first step towards our goal by starting her studies at CERN.”

Near East University is listed as one of the best high energy physicists and astrophysicists in the world...
Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ stated that one of the university ranking systems of the world, Webometrics, announced last month the list of the world's best High Energy Physicists and Astrophysicists whose H-index is over 100, and that Prof. Dr. Kerem Can Koçak from 'Near East University, whose H-index is 145, ranked in the list of High Energy Physics and Astrophysicists.

Within the scope of Erasmus Student Exchange Program, one of our students started to study at the Faculty of Medicine of Zagreb University...
Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ mentioned about another development and said that a student from the Faculty of Medicine started to study at Zagreb University Faculty of Medicine within the scope of Erasmus + exchange program, and Prof. Sabine Shaefer-Somi from Vienna's Veterinary University has started her PhD courses and research projects as of yesterday.

3 best research awards went to Near East University...
Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ noted that Near East University academics in the academic year 2018-19 conducted 665 scientific activities and participated in 1773 scientific activities at national and international level continued to carry out these activities unabated, and that within the scope of this dedication, the academics and researchers of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Faculty and Health Services and the Vocational School returned to the TRNC by receiving 3 best research awards and a third prize from the congresses they attended.

Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ said at the end of his speech that the Alasia Awards are given to artists who left their mark in art within the scope of Cyprus Museum of Modern Art Project in five fields: painting, print painting, photography, sculpture and ceramics, and that the award was given in return for a work related to the value, and Botagoz Tolesh, Aitkali Zhaisanbayev and Yergali Palymbetov, whose artworks would take place in the exhibitions, have been awarded the Silver Key.

Speaking on behalf of Azerbaijani artists, Rafael Aliyev said, "On behalf of the Azerbaijani artists participating in the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, we are grateful to Dr. Suat Günsel and the project management for all the opportunities and creative work environment they have provided us with.” Aliyev stated that they were honored to participate in the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, and that each participant of the project contributed to the culture of the Turkic world by leaving their creative works to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts; “With all my heart, I wish you all success, prosperity and good luck."

We are all united at one point, which is art and the desire to create."
Speaking on behalf of Kazakh artists, Salimgali Myrzashev said, "We are honored to take part in such a project unparalleled in world art history. On behalf of the project participants, We would like to express our gratitude to Suat Günsel and the project management for the creative conditions that provided for us. We are all united at one point, that is art and the desire to create. What is important is to guide art and spiritual harmony in simple terms, without putting pressure on the human psyche and psychology with technological progress in an age of constantly changing innovations. This is the main task of all types of art.”

Myrzashev continued: "As the Kazakh poet Abay said once; “The important thing is not to be the son of your father, but to be the son of a human being!" Our Turkic roots will never be lost. The culture and traditions of our ancestors will pass from generation to generation. Our mission is to preserve and maintain the uniqueness of our culture through art. In this context, I wish my colleagues inspiration and new creative works. I wish Suat Günsel health and endless energy with all my heart! ”

Botagoz Tolesh, whose solo exhibition would be opened, said that he felt great honor and happiness to participate in the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and that the unification of the Turkic world was a very important and noble duty. He said, "I am very grateful to Dr. Suat Günsel for giving me the opportunity to participate in this glorious project and for giving me the opportunity to reveal my creative potential even further." The artist further said that the project contributed greatly to the development of cultural interaction. Reiterating that it is an honor to participate in the creative project that contributes greatly to the culture of the Turkic world, he said; “I met fine, talented, interesting people and made new friends. I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to all my colleagues who contributed to the opening of the exhibition.”

“Cyprus Museum of Modern Art serves as an art bridge”
The artist Aitkali Zhaisanbayev whose solo exhibition was opened said; "All artists completed their works by sharing their experiences and skills with each other. The participants of the project contribute to the culture of the Turkic world by leaving their creative works to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. Art, which is the most important element in the emergence of civilizations and cultures, together with the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, serves as an art bridge for the unification of all Turkic republics and related communities. Dr.Suat Günsel, I am very grateful for the opportunity provided to me to make my contribution to this magnificent project. Thank you very much for your support, attention, warm welcome and friendly atmosphere.”

“Art is immeasurable and unlimited, art is endless…”
Another artist Yergali Palymbetov, said that he was proud to be present at the opening of this exhibition, which was attended by Turkish folk artists as part of the International Symposium held in Cyprus. He paid his deepest respects and gratitude to Suat Günsel for bringing together artists from the Turkish world. Palymbetov said, “This project has a great deal of effort and deep meaning. Art is immeasurable and unlimited, art is endless! Mr. Günsel, once again I would like to express my gratitude to you, as you are the founder and heart of this project! I congratulate all my colleagues who contributed to the opening of the exhibition.“

“Cyprus Museum of Modern Art is a bridge connecting cultures and peoples through art”
Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy said that he was happy to be present at the opening of the exhibition and that it was Suat Hoca's success to bring such talented artists together. Taçoy; “Art and culture can come together, both reflecting people's historical feelings and other thoughts. But there is more than that, to be able to collect, evaluate and carry them to the future…A few days ago we celebrated the 36th anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the anniversary of the founding date of our state. On the 37th anniversary of the establishment of our state, the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art will be opened. I estimate approximately 20 thousand works have been created so far, and 25 thousand maybe more works will be created until the next opening. And the question is; are all these exhibited will remain only with the Museum of Modern Arts, or will we take them further!”

Minister Taçoy also said that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts has made a great contribution to the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and that the number of works will exceed 100 thousand in the future gives excitement and hope. Taçoy said, "Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is a bridge connecting cultures and peoples through art. I congratulate all the artists who contributed to the opening of the exhibition."

Silver Key Award and Certificates of Appreciation presented to the artists and the ribbon cut to open the exhibitions.
Following the speeches, Botagoz Tolesh, Aitakali Zhaisanbayev and Yergali Palymbetov were presented Silver Key Honor Award, and Azerbaijani and Kazakh artists were presented the certificates of gratitude by the Minister of Economy and Energy, Hasan Taçoy.

The exhibition can be visited at the exhibition hall of the Near East University Hospital between 08.00-16.00 hours on weekdays until 22 November 2019.
