3 free courses in Spring Term for TRNC citizen students who have to interrupt abroad education due to Covid-19 Pandemic

Near East University offers students who are studying at universities abroad and who are forced to return to our country because of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, and offers free registration to 3 courses in the Spring term, in accordance with their departments.

In a statement made by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, students who had to leave the country where they were educated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, can enroll in 3 free courses in accordance with their curriculum through the online courses provided by Near East University.

In the statement, it was noted that the courses to be taken by students will be exempted from these courses at the universities where they are trained in accordance with the international credit system of the transcript. TRNC citizens who study abroad and want to take the advantage of Near East University's online education courses can register for the courses they want by obtaining a username and password from [email protected].

The Secretary General of Near East University, who stated that they have taken the necessary precautions regarding the issue and continued their efforts to maximize solidarity during this process, by closely and precisely following the developments regarding the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeter Tabur said that they opened their doors to the TRNC students who were continuing their higher education studies outside Cyprus and had to interrupt their education due to the pandemic.

Speaking of the global coronavirus epidemic, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tabur said "It is our duty to leave no friends alone or unattended, and support everyone." Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tabur stated that for TRNC students who had to leave the country where they were continuing their higher education studies due to the COVID-19 outbreak, have the opportunity to register for 3 courses free of charge in the Spring semester in accordance with their own curriculum.

Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeter Tabur said, “Students who prefer to benefit from the Near East University's online education courses for their fields will be provided with the transcript of the courses they complete at our university, and they will be exempted from these courses at the universities where they are studying. As Near East University, we offer all our facilities for our students so that our students studying abroad can also carry out their education and training and pull down their losses to a minimum. In this case, it is not clear how long this pandemic will take, however, we will use our wide range of opportunities in the fields of education, research and community services for all sort of public needs.”
