The most established scientific platform in Turkey and the TRNC; from 1976 to the present…
One of the most established scientific platforms in the field of herbal drug raw materials, BIHAT aims to bring products obtained from natural resources to the benefit of science and society. The meeting, which was first organized in 1976 under the leadership of the late Prof. Dr. Turhan Baytop, a faculty member of the Istanbul University Faculty of Pharmacy, brings together experts in many fields such as botany, ethnobotany, phytochemistry, pharmacology and industrial uses. These meetings, which are held with the aim of benefiting from the rich flora of Turkey and the TRNC in a sustainable way, make great contributions to scientific research on herbal drug raw materials in the fields of agriculture and chemistry, especially in the pharmaceutical and medicine sector.
The logo of BIHAT also bears the signature of Prof. Dr. İhsan Çalış, who hosted the event this year as the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Near East University. The daisy drawing signed by Prof. Dr. İhsan Çalış has been used as the logo of BIHAT since 1978 upon the suggestion of Prof. Dr. Mekin Tanker.
