
1850 students attended the scholarship ranking exam administered by Near East University for the 2025-2026 academic year, candidates sweated to gain the right to study in nearly 500 programs of the university.
The “TRNC Student Placement and Scholarship Ranking Exam” organized by Near East University for the 2025-2026 academic year was held with great interest. 1850 students attended the exam held in three centers and 30 halls on the Near East University campus. While the students sweated in the exam held at the Near East University Grand Library, Irfan Günsel Congress Center and Faculty of Pharmacy, their parents waited with great excitement outside.
Students who come from many parts of the island and meet at the Near East University campus to shape their future will have the right to be placed in nearly 500 undergraduate and associate degree programs in Near East University’s 21 faculties, 3 colleges and 2 vocational schools, in accordance with their exam results.

Among the top 10 Turkish universities!
Near East University had climbed 40 steps worldwide in the “2024-2025 World University Rankings” prepared by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory operating as part of the METU Informatics Institute in March 2025. In the same study, Near East University, which was among the “Top 10 Turkish Universities” in the geography covering Turkey, TRNC and the Turkish Republics, was shown as the best university in Cyprus.
Near East University is ranked 139th worldwide in the “Young University Rankings 2024”, which is a ranking of the best universities under 50 years old in the world by the London-based higher education rating organization Times Higher Education.

Expressing his happiness due to the intense interest shown by students in the TRNC Student Placement and Scholarship Ranking Exam, Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “This intense interest shown in our university is both a great pleasure and an important responsibility for us.”
