
In a study published by Stanford University, Near East University became the university with the most academics in the list from the TRNC.
In a study conducted by Stanford University announcing the world’s most influential scientists, Near East University became the university with the most academics included in the list from the TRNC. The list, which evaluates academics whose publications are included in the Elsevier database, was prepared based on “career-long” and “last year” performances. According to the results of the study, 18 academics from Near East University were shown by Stanford University in the 2 percentile among the world’s most influential scientists.

In the study, which examined 175 sub-scientific categories under five main fields as “Applied Sciences”, “Arts and Humanities”, “Economic and Social Sciences”, “Health Sciences” and “Natural Sciences”, 18 Near East University academics from 13 different fields were included in the list. Near East University academics were ranked in the fields of Analytical Chemistry, Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing, Chemical Engineering, Education, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Energy, Environmental Sciences, Medicine, General Physics, Medical and Biomolecular Chemistry, Network and Telecommunications, Optics.
The list includes; Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Can Başer and Prof. Dr. İhsan Çalış from the field of Biomolecular Chemistry, Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman from the field of Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing, Prof. Dr. Rahib Abiyev, Prof. Dr. Kamil Dimililer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Youssef Kassem and Prof. Dr. Nadire Çavuş, Prof. Dr. Sameer M. Ikhdair and Dr. Abdullahi Yusuf from general physics, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yakup Yıldırım from optics, Mir Ali Farajzadeh and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özsöz from analytical chemistry, Prof. Dr. Doğan İbrahim from electrical and electronics engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aydin Hassani from chemical engineering, Prof. Dr. Turgut Tursoy, Humphrey Adun and Abraham A. Awosusi from environmental sciences, and Dr. Kedir Hussein Abegaz from biostatistics.
