1,500 New Breaths into Healthcare!

Near East University, bringing together students from 143 countries worldwide, graduated 1,500 healthcare professionals this year, primarily in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, and Nursing.

Near East University, which has given over 2,800 graduates this year from its 21 faculties, 3 vocational schools, and the Institute of Graduate Education, has graduated more than 1,500 students in health fields. In the 2024-2025 academic year, 130 students successfully graduated from the English and Turkish departments of the Faculty of Dentistry, 204 from the Faculty of Medicine, 107 from the Faculty of Pharmacy, 86 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, 201 from the Faculty of Nursing, 220 from the Faculty of Health Sciences, and 550 from the School of Health Services Vocational School. Thus, the number of health professionals graduated from Near East University, of which graduates have so far spread to many countries around the world, reached 1,500 this year.
With its Medical Faculty Hospital, Dental Hospital, and Animal Hospital located on its campus, Near East University offers students practical, hands-on learning opportunities throughout their undergraduate studies. Thanks to this robust infrastructure, graduates are prepared for their professional lives.

More than 500 students from Near East University’s faculties of Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine celebrated their commitment to their sacred professions with the “White Coat and Oath Ceremony.”

The ceremonies, which were attended by the graduates and their families, were carried out with intense participation. Following the speeches, Near East University students from many countries studying in Northern Cyprus, who came from many countries and are receiving their education in Northern Cyprus, brought great pride to their families by putting on their white coats at the hands of their professors.

Prof. Dr. Umut Aksoy: “The strong academic infrastructure our university offers you and the love for humanity you will demonstrate will be the greatest strengths in your professional life.”

Prof. Dr. Umut Aksoy, Vice Rector for Health at Near East University, emphasized that healthcare professionals choose sacred professions that combine knowledge, skill, patience, and compassion for humanity. Prof. Dr. Aksoy stated that all healthcare fields, especially medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine, are universal professions. He stated that Near East University, which brings together students from 143 countries around the world on its campus, reinforces this universality by providing education to students of many nationalities.

Addressing the graduating healthcare professionals, Prof. Dr. Umut Aksoy said, “Starting from this day, you will move forward not only with your knowledge and skills, but also with your conscience and respect for human life. The words in you oath will not be merely a ceremonial ritual, but a compass that will illuminate your path throughout your professional life. We have complete confidence in you because you have been raised as individuals committed to ethical values, constantly learning and researching. The knowledge and values your professors have instilled in you form the strongest foundations of your professional stance today.”
