Near East University Faculty of Health Sciences, 2022-2023 academic year spring term graduation ceremony was held at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center with intense participation. The ceremony, where 150 young healthcare professionals received their diplomas, started with a moment of silence and singing of the National Anthem, and continued with the violing concert performed by Near East University Faculty Member Dr. İlyas Abdullin.

The opening speeches of the ceremony were delivered by Near East University Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Near East University Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören, and on behalf of all graduate students, the top graduate of the faculty, Murat Aşlamacı, expressed his feelings.

After the speeches, graduates who received their diplomas, took the oath under the guidance of the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Near East University Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören, and threw their caps off.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan: “You will need to work with patience, perseverance and determination to achieve success.”
Addressing the graduate students, Near East University Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan said, “Near East University Faculty of Health Sciences not only provided you with theoretical knowledge but also developed your practical skills with clinical experiences and internships.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tüzünkan said, “You will be healthcare professionals who adopt a patient-oriented approach, value people and provide services in accordance with ethical values.”

Stating that life is always a difficult road, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan said, “Life itself is a series of struggles and you need to be ready for this struggle. You will need to work with patience, perseverance and determination to achieve success.”

Reminding the success of Near East University in Times Higher Education and referring to the rankings, Tüzünkan said “Being enlisted in the 401-500 band in the world in the field of “Education” and in the first 501-600 band in the field of “Clinical and Health”, never forget that you graduated from the Near East University, which has made its name among the most respected universities in the world with its scientific productivity, the projects it has developed and produced with the vision of University 4.0, and its expert academic staff.”

Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören: “Love your job, your patients and people, other living things and the world. Success will definitely be with you.”
Starting his speech at the ceremony by stating that Near East University is a university that makes a difference not only in the TRNC but also between Turkish and European universities, Near East University Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören said, “With hundreds of exhibitions, many museums and works of art; In science, with its success in the ranking of universities with the most cited scientific articles in 2022; In education, with its success in the 2022 World Impact Rankings prepared by Times Higher Education; With GÜNSEL, the first domestic car produced, you are graduating from a university that is successful in technology.”

Addressing the graduates, Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören said, “Always be forward-thinking. In the footsteps of our ancestors, we expect you to be a generation that embraces and raises the beautiful values you have and makes the future beautiful. Please dream and follow your dreams”, Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören also said, “Love your job, your patients and people, other living things and the world. Success will definitely be with you.”

Murat Aşlamacı: “We will be the shining stars of the rising new generation and the hardworking sons of this country.”
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, the top of the faculty Murat Aşlamacı said, “We are experiencing the bitter joy of coming to the end of a four-year effort and struggle, with its bitterness and sweetness.”

Stating that graduating is a success, Murat Aşlamacı said, “The real success is to show the courage to realize and reveal your potential. “We have to focus on solutions, not on problems, obstacles, or complaints.”

Addressing his graduate friends, Aşlamacı said, “Undoubtedly, we are all unique and special. We must continue on our way with a mind model that reads, thinks, conducts research, and produces. Because we will be the shining stars of the rising new generation and the hardworking sons of this country.”

Aşlamacı concluded his speech with the words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, “Little ladies, little gentlemen! You are all a rose, star and light of prosperity of the future. You are the ones to illuminate the country with light. Think about how important and esteemed you are and work accordingly. We expect a lot from you.” Murat Aşlamacı said goodbye by saying “Hope to enlighten the country with light.”
