12 scientists from Near East University were included in the "World's Most Influential Scientists" list prepared under the coordination of the US Stanford University. Near East University Faculty of Pharmacy academic staff member Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Can Başer is ranked 1st in TRNC, 5th in Cyprus in general, and 20th in Turkey.

160 thousand influential scientists were listed in the global list prepared in 22 departments and 176 sub-disciplines, taking into account variables such as the number of scientific articles, the number of citations, and the order of authors. 9 scientists from Near East University took part in the ranking, which was made considering the scientific publications produced by scientists throughout their careers. On the other hand, 12 scientists from Near East University succeeded in the ranking made in accordance with the scientific publications published only in 2019.

Near East University Faculty of Pharmacy Head of Pharmacognosy Department and Director of Graduate Education Institute Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Can Başer, with his scientific publications and the effects he has made in the scientific world during his career, ranked 1st in the TRNC 1st, 5th in the whole of Cyprus and 20th in Turkey. In addition, Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. İhsan Çalış, from the field of Physics and Astronomy Prof. Dr. Sameer M. Ikhdair, Faculty of Engineering faculty members Prof. Dr. Derin Orhon, Prof. Mehmet Özsöz, Mir Ali Farajzadeh, Prof. Dr. Rahib H.Abiyev, Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman and Mir Ghasem Hosseini were among the most influential scientists in the world with their publications throughout their careers.

Near East University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel congratulated the academicians who are on the list of "World's Most Influential Scientists" and said that they are proud of the registration of Near East University's place among the world's most prestigious universities.
