University of Kyrenia Faculty of Maritime Studies Amateur Seaman Course Certificates were awarded with a ceremony

- 11 trainees, who completed the amateur seaman course successfully and achieved success in the competence exam, have been authorized to hold an amateur seaman certificate to take the responsibility to manage and direct the yachts not more than 24 meters in full length and navigate in world seas smoothly.

Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Kyrenia has realized the 10th of "Amateur Seaman and Short Range Radio Operator Competence Course” this year. 11 trainees, who have completed the course successfully, were awarded with Amateur Seaman Certificate with a ceremony.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press & Public Relations Office of the University of Kyrenia, 11 trainees were presented their amateur seaman and short range Radio Operator certificates with a ceremony held in Blue Hall of the Faculty of Maritime Studies in NEU Campus.

Delivering the opening speech of the ceremony, Professor Ilkay Salihoğlu indicated that 11 trainees completed the course successfully and achieved success in the competence exam. "Our university is committed to continuing uninterruptedly to exert effort towards ensuring integrity with public by realizing public open projects concerned with national and international public interest.

Addressing to the participants, Professor Mustafa Altunç, Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Studies of University of Kyrenia, underlined the significance of the mission undertaken by the faculty to ensure public interest. "We have gathered here today to present amateur seaman and short range radio operator certificates to the trainees who achieved success in the course and competence exam. Upon receiving their certificates, they will be authorized to take responsibility to manage and forward the yachts not more than 24 meters in full length and navigate in world seas and visit any harbor across the world seamlessly" noted he.
Following the speeches, Professor Ilkay Salihoğlu, Rector of the University of Kyrenia, and Professor Mustafa Altunç, Dean of Faculty of Maritime Studies, presented the "Amateur Seaman and Short Range Radio Operator" certificates to the successful trainees.
With these certificates, amateur seamen are authorized to manage and direct yachts not longer than 24 meters, and navigate in world seas seamlessly.
