Mayor of Tatlısu Hayri Orçan; “It is proud to see the museums we envy in Europe in our own country”

Mayor of Tatlısu Hayri Orçan visited Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, Cyprus Car Museum and Herbarium and Natural History Museum.

Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan visited the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, the Cyprus Car Museum and the Herbarium and Natural History Museum and received information about the museums.

Near East University Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan and Deputy Director of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Görkem Bulunç accompanied Mayor of Tatlısu Hayri Orçan who first visited the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and got information. He then visited the Cyprus Car Museum and the Herbarium Nature and History Museum. Prof. Dr. Salih Gücel accompanied Mayor Orçan during his visit to the Herbarium Nature and History Museum and information was given by Prof. Dr. Gücel about endemic plants and animal species unique to Cyprus.

Making a statement after visiting the museums, Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan said that he enjoyed visiting the museums founded by Near East University.

Hayri Orçan: "The value given to art and the artist has really come to life."
Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan said that with the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, where the artworks of many famous artists from the Turkish world are exhibited, the value given to art has come to life in real terms. Orçan said, "There is a lot of effort here. I congratulate everyone who contributed, especially the Founding Rector of Near East University, Suat Günsel, and the artists who created all these masterpieces.

Stating that the Herbarium Nature and History Museum, the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and the Cyprus Car Museum are world-class museums, Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan said, “It made me happy and proud to see museums in our country, which we envy in Europe, we cannot thank enough to the creators of these works." He also said that as Tatlısu Municipality, they will encourage the people of the region to see the museums. Orçan said, “The more we value art and the artist, the stronger we carry our country and nation to the future. "We will direct our youth and children to see these values of our country and we will make a breakthrough in this regard."

The Near East University, which brings together examples from many art disciplines within the body of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Nicosia Walled City Museum, Cyprus Car Museum, Herbarium and Natural History Museums and Günsel Art Museum, makes a great contribution to the art atmosphere of the country.
