Important Announcement Regarding the 45-Day Immigration Amnesty

Dear Students,

Under the provisions of the Foreigners and Immigration (Amendment) Law No. 27/2026, a 45-day Immigration Amnesty has officially entered into force following its publication in the Official Gazette. The amnesty period will be effective from 26 May 2026 to 09 July 2026.

For Students Currently in the TRNC with Immigration Penalties

All students currently residing in the TRNC and who are in an irregular or penalized immigration status must submit their applications online.

Applications can be made through the Ministry of Interior of the TRNC at the following address:

https://permissions.gov.ct.tr/amnesty/login

Students wishing to apply must first register in the system and obtain a password.

For Students Who Have Been Deported or Are Subject to an Entry Ban

Pursuant to Article 37 of the Law, students who:

  • Were registered at our university before 26 May 2026;
  • Were deported or subjected to an entry ban due to the expiration of their student permit and subsequent unauthorized stay;

must apply to the University no later than 07 July 2026.

Application Requirements

In order for applications submitted under this provision to be considered, students must have completed at least 50% of the academic credit requirements of their registered study program.

The following documents must be submitted with the application:

  • Copy of passport
  • Current academic transcript

Students wishing to apply under this amnesty are strongly advised to contact the University Student Affairs Office as soon as possible for guidance regarding the required procedures and document preparation.
