The “Real Classroom, Real Experience for Every Child” event held at Near East University brought together prospective teachers with classroom practices in preschool education, transforming theoretical knowledge into practice.

Experience gained in the classroom environment is as important as the theoretical knowledge acquired while preparing for the teaching profession. Practical activities aimed at better preparing future teachers for their professional lives stand out as one of the most important parts of this process. The “Real Classroom, Real Experience for Every Child” event, held at Near East University, which is among the top 500 universities in the world, provided prospective teachers with the opportunity to transform theoretical knowledge into practice by bringing them together with classroom practices in preschool education.

The “Real Classroom, Real Experience for Every Child” event, organized in collaboration with the Office of Students’ Dean, Atatürk Faculty of Education, Preschool Teacher Training Club, and the Preschool Teacher Training Department of Near East University, offered a high-quality educational environment where theoretical knowledge met with practice.

The event was coordinated by Gülderen Mullahalil, President of the Preschool Education Club, and Ahmet Dursun Dağcı, Vice President of the Club. The program, which saw high participation, was carried out through the collaborative efforts of student clubs and academic units, highlighting the culture of intra-university cooperation.

The event, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dervişe Amca Toklu, Vice Dean of the Atatürk Faculty of Education and Head of the Preschool Education Department of Near East University, featured presentations by Prof. Dr. Mukaddes Sakallı Demirok on “Inclusion: A Classroom for Everyone”, Specialist Ayşe Öztoprak on “Peer Interaction: Building Positive Relationships”, and Specialist Gözde Demirkaya Taşkentli on “A Safe Environment.” Participants discussed classroom management in preschool education, effective communication with children, and the practical aspects of learning processes.

Throughout the panel discussion, practical aspects of classroom management in preschool education, effective communication with children, inclusive approaches, and safe learning processes were addressed. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dervişe Amca Toklu, in her presentation, emphasized the importance of supporting children’s social and emotional development above all else, highlighting the significance of children who grow up with love, feeling understood and safe. The event highlighted that preschool teaching is not just a profession, but also a responsibility to touch a child’s life with love. The message, “A preschool teacher is unforgettable; because children remember not just the information, but how they were made to feel”, resonated greatly with the participants.

In the brainstorming session held at the end of the panel, participants actively shared their views and experiences, adding significant value to the event through intense interaction.
