The “Lego Corner,” to be implemented within the Cyprus Car Museum under the leadership of Özay Günsel Children’s University, will bring imagination to the heart of the museum experience by exhibiting the original designs of children and young people under the age of 18.

Near East Enterprises Museums, which bring art and creativity together with society, are adding another project to their collections and transforming museology into a living and evolving experience. Within the scope of the Lego Corner, to be implemented under the leadership of Özay Günsel Children’s University, Lego designs by children and young people will be exhibited to visitors in a special exhibition area created within the Cyprus Car Museum.

The project will also strengthen the inspiring educational and cultural environment offered to young people by being implemented on the campus of Near East University, which is among the top 500 universities in the world.

Children will take their place in the museum with their works!

The Lego Corner, which centers children not only as observers but also as creators, aims to create an inspiring platform for young people interested in design, engineering, and art, making their original creations visible and enabling them to become an active part of the museum experience. Highlighting the value of creation and sharing, the project also aims to strengthen social responsibility awareness and transform the museum into a participatory living space.

Participation will be possible through individual applications as well as schools, clubs, and workshops. Each work deemed suitable for exhibition will receive a personalized tag; participants who donate their works to the museum will also receive a certificate.

Lego pieces will multiply as you share!

The project will also transform into a powerful social impact movement with the “Lego Sharing Box” to be placed in the Cyprus Car Museum. Visitors can contribute to creation and solidarity by donating Lego pieces they no longer use at home.

The collected pieces will be used in workshops for disadvantaged children, social responsibility projects, and educational activities. This initiative, open to everyone regardless of age, aims to spread a culture of sharing.

Anna Günsel: “While creating space for our children’s dreams, we invite them to become part of a world empowered by creation and growing through sharing.”

Anna Günsel, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Özay Günsel Children’s University, made a statement regarding the Lego Corner project they spearheaded, saying, “With this project, while creating space for our children’s dreams, we invite them to become part of a world empowered by creation and growing through sharing.” Günsel also emphasized their goal of transforming the Lego Corner into an independent museum in the future, adding, “In this way, children’s creativity will be continuously exhibited, the culture of creation and sharing will become permanent, and a living, evolving museum experience will be offered to visitors.”

Stating that they believe each Lego piece represents a dream and each design represents a future, Günsel also highlighted the importance of implementing the project within the Cyprus Car Museum, saying, “The rich texture of the Cyprus Car Museum, combined with the creative atmosphere of the Lego Corner, will offer children an inspiring and interactive experience.”
