The Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics at Near East University, the only faculty in higher education focused on artificial intelligence, accepts students in the departments of “Artificial Intelligence Engineering”, “Cyber Security Engineering”, “Computer Engineering”, “Software Engineering”, “Data Analysis”, “Management Information Systems”, and “Information and Document Management”.

In today’s world where artificial intelligence technologies are rapidly developing, career opportunities for individuals specializing in this field are constantly expanding and diversifying. Fields such as artificial intelligence engineering, data analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, robotic systems, autonomous vehicle technologies, and AI-enabled software development, offer graduates a wide range of employment opportunities, from technology giants and startups to healthcare and the financial sector. Furthermore, critical areas of expertise such as cybersecurity, digital transformation, and big data analytics also offer important career paths for individuals pursuing AI training. The transformation of artificial intelligence in every sector is increasing the need for qualified professionals trained in this field.

Near East University, the first university in Europe and the third in the world to have an AI-based faculty, stands out as the only university focusing on AI technologies. Its Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics, established after completing the necessary approvals, has begun accepting students for the 2025-2026 academic year. Listed as the only faculty focused on AI in the university preference guide, Near East University’s Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics aims to train well-equipped professionals suited to the changing needs of the world. Providing bilingual education in Turkish and English, the faculty accepts students in the departments of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Cyber Security Engineering, Data Analysis, Management Information Systems, and Information and Document Management. The faculty also offers students the opportunity to undertake internships at research centers within the university or at external institutions in line with their preferences.

AI. Prof. Dux also emphasized that fields such as data analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, cybersecurity, and AI-supported decision systems are critical to making human life more efficient, secure, and sustainable. He said, “Students studying in these fields don’t just produce software or algorithms, they also develop solutions that create value for humanity. At Near East University, we approach technology not only as a tool but also as a force to be used ethically and socially to instill this vision in our students.”

AI. Prof. DUX stated that the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics serves as a model not only for the TRNC and Turkey, but also for the region and the world. DUX said, “Our faculty is bringing the scientific production environment to a strategic field of artificial intelligence established on a global scale by our university with students coming from 143 different countries.
