Tümer B. GARİP

Born to a Cypriot family in 1957. Graduated from English College (renamed Türk Maarif Koleji) in 1975 and went to England for higher education. Received his BSc from Sussex University School of Applied Sciences in 1979. Stayed in England for employment and worked at varius companies as an electronics engineer. In 1991 left England for Istanbul while he was the technical director of a printing publishing firm.
Between 1991 to 1993 worked as the Vice Manager of IT at STFA Holding. He formed his own company Helicopter Interactive Systems Ltd in 1994 with four partners. He headed a team of software engineers to produce the first interactive school CD. Won the Best Multimedia Design Award from Apple by the title ‘War of Independence -Turkey’.

In 2000 he was back in England as the education director of Creative Technologies Ltd. Awarded the Best Teaching Enviorenment from the EU grants office.

Returned to Cyprus in 2004 and took employment at Near East University. Led the operational design of the Grand Library and appointed as the director. Received his MSc in Information and Records Management at Near East University.
From 2007-2013 he chaired the Innovation and IT Technologies Centre
He is currently the assistant to the Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Gunsel, NEU Hospital executive member and the director of the Grand Library.
