Near East University Women’s Basketball Team players Simay Karaman, Marica Gajic and Yelena Leuchanka have been invited to play at the national teams.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University three of the Near East University Women’s Basketball team players have been invited to join their national teams of their countries. In this case, Simay Karaman will be playing in the national women’s basketball team of Turkey; Marica Gajic will be playing as part of the Bosnia Herzegovina team; and Yelena Leuchanka will be playing at Belarus national women’s basketball team.

Near East University Women’s Basketball Team player Simay Karaman has been offered to join the Turkish national team. Currently, in the 9 matches she had played, she has an average of 7.4; 2.3 rebound average; and 0.7 assists. It was pointed out that the Turkish national team is currently in Group H of the FIBA European Championship, and that it would be competing against Romania on 20th February, 2016 and against Israel on 24th February, 2016.

One of the youngest players of NEU women’s basketball team Marica Gajic, born in 1995, power striker will be playing at the Bosnia Herzegovina national team. Currently, she has 11 score average; an average of 19 rebounds; and 1 assists. In the 2 matches she played for 32.5 minutes. Bosnia Herzegovina will be playing in the European Championship against Israel on 20th February, 2016 and against Romania on 24th February 2016.

Yelena Leuchanka will be playing in Belarus national team…

Being transferred to Near East University Women’s Basketball team during the 2014-2015 season, made great contributions to the team at the Turkish Women’s Basketball League and has retransferred to the team during the 2015-2016 season. In the two matches she played in the national team, the experienced player, Yelena Leuchanka, played for 26.0 minutes; scored 11.5 points; 9.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists. In the FIBA European Championships, Belarus national team will be playing against Poland on 24th February, 2016, on Wednesday.
