Suat Günsel Health Fund will be providing diagnosis and outpatient services to students studying at the Near East University free of charge. All students studying at the Near East Nursery, Pre-School, Primary and Secondary Education will be eligible to benefit from the offered privileged health service by the Near East University Hospital and NEU Faculty of Medicine.

According to the press info released from the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, by putting this great project to life, all students studying at the Near East Nursery, Pre-School, Primary and Secondary Education will be eligible to benefit from diagnosis and outgoing health services free of charge. It was stated that students studying at the above mentioned institutions of the NEU are perceived to be as part of the “Near East University Family” and are thus offered health services via the “Suat Günsel Health Fund”, which includes diagnosis and outgoing patient health services, with the aim to limiting the cost and/or freeing parents from the cost of health expenditures, indicating interdependence between Parents& School. It was added that "Suat Günsel Health Fund" included the diagnosis and outgoing treatments of all seasonal diseases, infections, paediatric diseases.

In addition to the above, it was emphasised that the sole reason why this significant health service is offered to all students studying at the Near East Nursery, Pre-School, Primary and Secondary Education is due to the fact that the Near East University perceives all students studying at institutions functioning under the body of Near East University as a whole and as part of the “Near East University Family”. Furthermore, it was stated that the privileged health service facilitated by the Suat Günsel Health Fund enabled all students studying at the Near East University Institutions to benefit from the health services from Near East University Hospital and NEU Faculty of Medicine, which are of great value and opportunities provided in the country.

Making a statement on the matter, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel said: “We believe that providing the best health services to our students as individuals who will be shaping our future is am indispensable part of our solicitude.” He further expressed that Suat Günsel Health Fund was founded to facilitate opportunities to students of Near East Institutions in all areas of life. Initially the Fund will be used for providing health services to students of ages ranging from nursery to secondary education. He further added: “The fact that this fund is being initially used to provide health services as a mean to facilitate financial and moral support to our parents and as an added value to our students is an indication to the significance shown to human health by the Near East University Institute.”

Moreover, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel stressed that as an institution which possesses the most equipped hospital on the island, they strongly believed in the necessity to provide health services to all students of the Near East University and added that as an institution which offers the best possible health services available in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, providing health services to the students free of charge should be ascribed to the value and solicitude that the institution shows to students.
