We must all bear in mind that the smallest detail can save lives, therefore, we must make sure that it is time to put our old beliefs, taught by our masters, aside and make the most of latest technologies and accumulated knowledge in everything we do. Today, I am like a student, as you are, here to learn. I would like to thank the Near East Family on both my and your behalf for providing us such a beneficial programme”.
Also making a speech, Head of NEU Occupational Health and Safety Institute, Aziz Gürpınar emphasised the risks of occupational accidents and reminded that the Institute had been very recently established; established with an aim to make the necessary contributions for safe working environments and help prevent occupational accidents. He further added that it was wrong to expect only governmental institutions to realise events alike. Instead, we also needed to expect non-governmental institutions and Vocational Organisations to pay their dues.
Moreover, Aziz Gürpınar, further added that the Near East University was currently facilitating contributions in the filed of occupational safety at a scientific level, and that their belief in the benefits of these contributions was to a full extent. He expressed that they, as the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety were ready to cooperate with relative ministries and be included in future projects involved in this field, since they were determined to minimise and in fact prevent occupational accidents and help to promote safe working environments.
Once again, Near East University has broken new ground!
Minister of Internal Affairs and Minister of Labour, Asım Akansoy said: “The fact that Near East University has established the Occupational Health and Safety Institute serves as a significant example regarding realising institutions which serve as stepping stones to effective relationships between governmental institutions and institutions alike. I would like to express my gratitude to the Near East University and Vice Rector Şenol Bektaş for actualising such necessities for the benefit of everyone. They have marked their name under a project which is highly significant since it involves the safety of humans and the finest details matter. Of course, occupational safety is an issue which is a priority for governmental institutions, and we as the relative Ministry, are ready to support all projects which will make a positive contribution to this matter. Furthermore, we are ready to involve both our personnel and everyone involved in the sector to take their parts in similar projects, cooperate to help raise awareness and provide safe working environments. I would like to end my words by stating my strong belief that we are all going to continue to realise similar and even better projects in the future…”
