According to a press statement released by Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Uğurcan Akyüz, Acting Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts and Design and guest panelist of Gazi University 2. International Art Symposium, said: “We have decided with Prof. Dr. Şule Çivitçi, Dean of Faculty of Art and Design of Gazi University, to hold a workshop in order to develop existing programs of departments such as Fashion Design, Textile Design, which we do not have in our faculty but are amongst the specialist subjects of them. We were much pleased to conduct such a seminar with the Dean and the committee members, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Birsen Çeken, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gültekin Akengin, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saliha Ağaç, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Meral Büyükyazıcı. We have experienced that common problems occuring in programs can be solved in cooperation with other colleagues by sharing experiences in such workshops.

Prof. Dr. Şule Çivitçi, Dean of Faculty of Art and Design of Gazi University, made a statement regarding the event and said “The workshop was very beneficial and fruitful. This is the first time I have been to TRNC. The Near East University is such a great investment, competing with the continent from an island. The number of programs is quite a lot. We have come to discuss about the development of programs which are relevant to our subjects. We have produced joint solutions to common problems. We were much pleased to share our experiences with our colleagues at the Near East University.”

In press statement, the deans said that the results of this workshop will be shared at THE symposium titled POWER: ART AND DESIGN and will be held at the Near East University next year.
