Near East University, University of Kyrenia and Yeniboğaziçi Campus Grand Libraries, where knowledge, culture and art meet, open the doors of a limitless world to their users.

Near East University, University of Kyrenia and Yeniboğaziçi Campus Grand Libraries provide access to a total of 3.5 million printed books and 650 million digital resources, opening the doors of the world’s wealth of information to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Near East University, University of Kyrenia and Yeniboğaziçi Campus Grand Libraries, which are among the most important examples of traditional librarianship in the region with their modern buildings, also provide the easiest way to access information in the digital environment with their remote access facility and state-of-the-art equipment. In the visual media library, which contains thousands of documentaries, music and movie DVDs, there are booths where these DVDs and other visual information material can be watched, group study rooms, and digital information storage centers. In this way, users can access millions of academic journals, reports, articles, newspapers and documents on different subjects.

Combining knowledge, culture and art
One of the most important approaches of Near East University, University of Kyrenia and Yeniboğaziçi Campus Grand Libraries is to combine knowledge with culture and art. They also serve as information, culture and art center for their users with their exhibition areas. With the congresses and meetings they host in their fully equipped halls, they not only provide access to existing information, but also host the production of new information. Near East University, University of Kyrenia, and Yeniboğaziçi Campus Grand Libraries also provide access to special content on many subjects. The Cyprus documents of the United Kingdom National Archive, which has been made available to researchers and enthusiasts in the past months, from the period 1878-1975 are the best examples of this. Among the documents that shed light on the history of Cyprus between 1878-1975 is the official correspondence of various institutions in Cyprus, as well as information about many political, social and economic events that took place on the island. Some of the political documents also include inter-communal negotiations between 1950-75. Among the documents are the reports kept by the UK officials about the newspapers published in Cyprus, various documents related to the foundations, and the investigations made about the politicians who came to the fore in Cyprus in the relevant years.

Apart from the archives opened for access, each of the Near East University, University of Kyrenia and Yeniboğaziçi Campus Grand Libraries also has a special Cyprus section. In this section, there are many works from the first books written on Cyprus to the books written today. This feature makes the libraries almost like a National Library.

An information museum: rare artifacts
The Near East University Grand Library attracts attention as an information museum as well as a library with the rare works it hosts. Within the Rare Works Library, there are thousands of rare works, especially in the fields of literature, history, religion and art, researches, manuscripts, personal collections, encyclopedias, edicts, maps, important works of our country’s researchers and the CMC archive. In addition, the private collections of many politicians, thinkers, historians, researchers, and literary figures meet with the public in the Grand Libraries.
