Near East University and the General Directorate of Police signed a Cooperation Protocol

Near East University and the General Directorate of Police have signed a comprehensive cooperation protocol. Within the frame of the protocol, the parties will organize joint educational, scientific and social-benefit-oriented projects in collaboration.

The Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University released that NEU Board of Trustees Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel and the Director General of Police Süleyman Manavoğlu signed the cooperation protocol on behalf of their parties. NEU Board of Trustees Vice Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan, Near East Institute Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Koldaş, Police School Director Hüseyin Sağıroğlu and General Directorate of Police Administrative and Personnel Affairs Director Mustafa Ceylanlı attended the protocol signing ceremony as well.

The cooperation protocol sets terms and resolutions for carrying out joint training programs, activities and social benefit oriented projects in the field of science and culture.

Delivering a speech at the protocol signing ceremony, Near East University Board of Trustees Chairman Associate Professor İrfan Günsel stated that they were feeling the happiness and proud of crowning the cooperation ongoing for years between the parties with a protocol.

Underlining the significant role of the protocol in ensuring a new momentum for the next joint activities of both institutions, Associate Professor Günsel said: “We have been in an ongoing collaboration with the General Directorate of Police for years. As Near East University, we have shown that collaboration, togetherness and working together with the General Directorate of Police can be carried out without having a cooperation protocol. However, with this protocol, we firmly believe that our cooperation will be crowned, accelerated and will grow incrementally. I hope, this protocol will be beneficial for our university, the police force and our country”.

Director General of Police Süleyman Manavoğlu: “Our Cooperation in the Field of Education and Health with Near East University will increasingly go on”
“We have been in collaboration with Near East University in the field of education and health for a long time. This protocol will provide a momentum and accelerate our collaboration. Up to now, within the scope of our collaborations, Near East University has provided training the police forces while we provide training to the security personnel of Near East University. We have embraced the collaboration lasting for years. Now, we are making this established collaboration formal by crowning it with a protocol” noted he.

At the end of the signing ceremony, the Board of Trustees Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel presented a cocoon work tableau to the Director General of Police Süleyman Manavoğlu in the memory of the day.
