‘Cyprus during the Ottoman Period’ Symposium has been initiated as a result of Cooperation between NEU and Municipality of Istanbul Bağcılar

- Cyprus during the Ottoman Period has been scrutinised at the NEU Grand Library.

Through cooperation between Near East University and Municipality of Istanbul Bağcılar, the symposium titled as ‘Cyprus during the Ottoman Period’ has been initiated and it was stated that a it had received a high number of participance.
According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, renowned academicians from universities of 8 different countries, historians, journalists and writers shared their knowledge, perspectives and views regrading ‘Cyprus during the Ottoman Period’.

It was emphasised that the symposium was organised through cooperation between the NEU and Municipality of Istanbul Bağcılar, that the opening speech of the symposium was made by Mayor of Istanbul Bağcılar Municipality; Lokman Çağırıcı and that he had expressed how pleased they were to be conducting this symposium in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Moreover, it was stated that at the symposium; science during the Ottoman period, religious and social life statuses, cultural and economic structures were scrutinised.
