She was born on 24th June, 1979 in Istanbul. She completed her primary education at Firuz Ağa Elementary School and her secondary education at Nişantaşı Anatolian High School. During her secondary education, she attained the third place in TUBITAK Mathematics Olympics in high school year 2. After graduating from Istanbul University from Department of Physics with a third place, she completed her master’s degree with a second place in Atomic and Molecular Physics at Marmara University. After that she graduated from Marmara University by completing Institute of Health Sciences Biophysics doctorate program with a first place. Between 2000 and 2011, she worked as a research assistant at Marmara University. Between 2008 and 2011, she has received scholarships from TUBITAK for both education and success. In 2012, she worked as a post-doc at Marmara University in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology. She has worked on 2 projects of The 1002 Project which was supported by TUBITAK. Aykaç has two doctoral degrees in both physics and biophysics. Since September 2012 Aykaç has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine in Near East University and at the same time she has been working as a head of the Biophysics Department. Since February 2013, Aykaç has been the vice principal in the Vocational School of Health Sciences, since April 2016 works as a Coordinator of common courses for the entire University and as of 2017 she works as Open-Out Courses Coordinator, Elective Courses Coordinator and common courses coordinator Aykaç works on behavioral experiments, cholinergic receptors and the molecular mechanism of apoptosis where she had numerous articles published about these topics in various journals.
