Assistant Prof. Dr. Meryem Güvenir was born in 1986 in Bostancı-Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. She had her primary education in Kurtuluş Primary School, middle / high school education in Güzelyurt Türk Maarif College. She completed her University degree in Ege University Faculty of Science Department of Biology, Basic and Industrial Microbiology (2003-2007). She was graduated first degree of Dokuz Eylul University, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology (2007-2010). In 2011, she started to work as a microbiologist in the Near East University Hospital Biochemistry and Microbiology Laboratory and also started his PhD program at the Department of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at the Institute of Health Sciences, Near East University. In 2015, she graduated from Department of Medical Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology, Institute of Health Science, Near East University with the title of ‘Doctor of Science’. In 2016, she was entitled to receive the title of ‘Assistant Professor’ by the Commission for the Promotion and Appointment of the Faculty Member of the Near East University. Since 2016, she has been serving as coordinator of Elder Care Department and assistant coordinator of Common Courses Coordination Office. The awards given by the Assistant Professor Dr. Meryem Güvenir; Dokuz Eylül University Graduate School of Health Sciences Institute (2010); Near East University Scientific Publication Award (2016); Near East University Young Researcher Award (2015). There are 19 papers published in the Web of Science, a full-text paper, and 8 articles published in Scopus. She had more than 40 posters and oral reports in the international and national congresses. She continues to work in the field of bacteriology and virology.
