Department of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases, which commenced lecturing activity in the academic year of 2012-2013, was established with the contributions of Prof. Dr. Ahmet ERGÜN (Head of the Department), Prof. Dr. Şakir D. TUNCER, Prof. Dr. İrfan ÇOLPAN, Prof. Dr. Sakine YALÇIN, Prof. Dr. Gültekin YILDIZ, Prof. Dr. Kemal KÜÇÜKERSAN, Prof. Dr. Seher KÜÇÜKERSAN, Prof. Dr. Adnan ŞEHU, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Pınar SAÇAKLI and the Research Team who were assigned from the Department of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ankara University under Faculty of Veterinary of the Near East University.

Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases is a type of scientific branch that is interested in improving the animal nutrition, trying to examine the nutritional productivity and rational nutrition of animals. It also tries to create the techniques on feed information which is needed in that type of field and provides updated information about nutrition diseases. In this department, students cover the subjects such as the Nutrition Disorders and programs which are important for analyzing the farm animals which have a big impact on economy. Also the subjects such as Introduction of Feed, Weende Analyses Systems, Energy and Protein Evaluation Systems are covered as well as giving extra courses on Rational Editing Technique, Feed Evaluation Systems, Feed Substances, Ruminant Feed, Poultry Feed, Horse Feed, Feeding of Pet Animals and Fish Feeding.

At the Department of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases, the undergraduate courses such as Feed Hygiene and Technology, Agronomy, Feed Additive Agents, Feed Legislation and Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases are given both in a theoretical and practical way.
