Prof. Dr. Şahan SAYGI

He was born in Mersin, Turkey in 1954. He graduated from Kuleli Military High School in 1972, located in Istanbul. He received his B.S. degree from Ankara University Faculty of Pharmacy, and later acquired his Doctorate degree in the area of Pharmaceutical Toxicology at the same university in 1982. At Michigan State University, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the field of clinical toxicology from 1984 to 1986. He also worked at Ankara Military Hospital as a pharmacist and at the Military Drug Factory as a quality control and production sections chief. In the years of 1988 to 1992, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Pharmacology at Gulhane Military Medical College. He additionally earned an Associate Professorship degree in 1991 and worked as Chief of the Analytical Toxicology Department from 1992 to 2005. He was appointed as a professor to Mersin University, College of Pharmacy in 2006 and served subsequently as the Department Head, Vice Dean, and Dean till 2011. He has joined Near East University, College of Pharmacy as a professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Toxicology. He is married and has two children.
