Usama ALSHANA was born in 1977 in Khanyounis, Gaza Strip, Palestine. He graduated from Haroun Ar-Rasheed High School in 1995. He received his BSc. degree from Middle East Technical University, Department of Chemistry in 2001 and his MSc. degree in analytical chemistry from the same faculty in 2004. In 2013, he was awarded a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Analytical Chemsitry, Faculty of Pharmacy at Gazi University. His Ph.D. thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Nusret ERTAŞ and Prof. Dr. O. Yavuz ATAMAN, was entitled ”Speciation studies by capillary electrophoresis (CE) and high-performance liquid chromatography-hydride generation-atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HPLC-HG-AFS)”.
Dr. Usama ALSHANA joined the Faculty of Pharmacy at Near East University in September 2015 as Assist. Prof. Dr. Of Analytical Chemistry and is currently the head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry. He is teaching theoretical and experimental analytical chemistry as well as conducting research with graduate students. His research interests include chromatographic and electrodriven separations, elemental speciation analysis, microextractions and green analytical chemistry.
