Assist. Prof. Dr. Banu KEŞANLI

Banu KEŞANLI graduated from Lefkoşa Turkish Maarif College in 1991. She received her BS degree from Middle East Technical University, Chemistry Department in 1995 and her MS degree from the same faculty in 1997. In 2002, she was awarded PhD from University of Maryland College Park, Chemistry Department. She continued her post-doctoral studies at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Chemistry Department and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee.

She has joined Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at Faculty of Pharmacy, Near East University in fall 2008. She has been teaching both theoretical and laboratory courses as well as conducting research with graduate students.

Dr. Keşanlı has served as the assistant director of Institute of Health Sciences at NEU from December 2010 to February 2015. Currently, she is the Vice Dean and the head of Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Faculty of Pharmacy.

Her research interests include organic synthesis; synthesis of compounds which could be precursors to drugs, their characterization and biological activity studies.
