Banu KEŞANLI graduated from Lefkoşa Turkish Maarif College in 1991. She received her BS degree from Middle East Technical University, Chemistry Department in 1995 and her MS degree from the same faculty in 1997. In 2002, she was awarded PhD from University of Maryland Collge Park, Chemistry Department. She continued her post-doctoral studies at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Chemistry Department and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee.
She has joined Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at Faculty of Pharmacy, Near East University in Fall 2008. She has been teaching both theoretical and laboratory courses as well as conducting research with graduate students.
Currently, Banu Keşanlı is the head of Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and is the assistant director of Institute of Health Sciences at NEU.
Her research interests include organic, organometallic synthesis; synthesis of compounds which could be precursors to drugs and their characterization.
