Biochemistry is a central basic discipline for all branches of Life Sciences. The scope of Biochemistry consists of structure, function, synthesis and degradation pathways of biochemical molecules which are the structural components of simple and complex biological organisms. Biochemistry allows further understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying the metabolic disorders and the resulting diseases, and eventually functions as an important vehicle in the diagnosis and therapy.
In addition to the education, teaching and research facilities, Department of Biochemistry intends to help medical doctor candidates gain skills in analytical thinking, problem solving, active learning, and integration of basic and clinical sciences. Our department’s goal is to educate students to improve their perspectives along with the ability for analysis, while having qualifications as medical doctors in basic and clinical research.
