Prof. Murat KOCAOĞLU, MD

Prof. Murat KOCAOĞLU, M.D. was born in Iskenderun, Turkey in 1970. He completed his primary and secondary education in Erzin. . In 1992, he graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GMMA) School of Medicine and during 1994-1995 he fulfilled his military service in Lüleburgaz and Ankara.

He then completed his residency in GMMA Department of Radiology during 1995-1998. Starting from 1998, he worked as a Radiologist at Air Force Hospital in Ankara for three years. He achieved his rank as an Assistant Professor in 2001 at GMMA. Later, he worked as a research fellow at Duke’s Children’s Hospital, NC, USA, between 2003 and 2004. He was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2006 and to full Professor in 2014 at GMMA. He retired from the Turkish Military Forces in 2014. He currently works as the Chairman of the Department of Radiology of Faculty of Medicine of Near East University and as Director of Vocational School of Health Services.

Prof. Murat KOCAOĞLU, M.D. has over 200 scientific articles and book chapters in national and international journals; mainly about paediatric radiology, neuroradiology and magnetic resonance imaging and is an active member of several national and international associations such as the Turkish Society of Radiology, the Turkish Society of Paediatric Radiology, Turkish Society of Magnetic Resonance, the European Society of Radiology, and the European Society of Paediatric Radiology.

He gave over 30 speeches at national and international scientific meetings. He has also served as a Section Editor of a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Journal; as a reviewer in many international journals and as part of the Scientific Board Member of TRD National Radiology Congress. Prof. Kocaoğlu was awarded his diploma on Paediatric Radiology in 2010 and Certificate of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in 2016. He is proficient in English. He is married and has three children.
