I was born in Kilitkaya/ Magosa . I completed my elementary and high school education in Cyprus. I got my bachelor degree from Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology in 1970. I have started to my academic career as a research assistant in Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physiology. I got my Ph.D degree in Physiology in1977.

Thesis title being “the effects of changes of atrial pressure on some physiological parameters”. I became associate Professor In 1983 and then Full-Professor in 1989 in the same department. My research interests are ; Trace elements and their effects of isolated gastrointestinal segments, smooth muscle contractility and exercised physiology. I have retired in 2015 from Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine, Physiology department.

Since then I started working at the Near East University, School of Medicine, Physiology Department as a full time Professor.
