Faculty of Law

Faculty of Law of the Near East University is principally established on teaching and training students on principles of international law systems. In this regard, the faculty aims to do the following:

Aim

    The Near East University Law Faculty aims at educating and training the law students both at the undergraduate and graduate levels as individuals who

  • are equipped with strong theoretical and technical knowledge both in public and private law,
  • are devoted to ethical values and to the principles of supremacy of law and justice,
  • are respectful to human rights and contemporary universal principles of law,
  • are knowledgeable, open-minded and fair,
  • are possessed with the capability of independent and creative thinking as well as enhancing the social
  • developments both in their own society and in the world so as to interpret them accurately and appropriately,

  • are capable of assuming both individual and social responsibilities,
  • regard scientific data as a basis for their studies or research and
    are able to take their place in society as judges or prosecutors as well as lawyers in the service of justice, or legal counsellors or advisors for private, public or international companies or institutions.

Mission
Our Faculty of Law aims to educate the domestic and international students in accordance with the universal principles of law so as to enable the graduates well-respected in their fields and make them succeeded in their works leading to reach the justice, enlighten the people with contemporary values of law, raise them as responsible individuals both socially and professionally. We believe that our graduates will become independent, objective and creative in thinking, understanding in both local and global events, loyal to human rights.

We aim to provide our students with Law Bachelor Degree programme and post-graduate degrees (Master of Laws and Doctorate Degrees) and the international students with “International Law” LLB, LLM programmes in order to equip them with strong theoretical and technical knowledge in public law, private law, law of economy and shipping & trade law. Our students are devoted to ethical values and to the principles of supremacy of law and justice, are educated as respectful to human rights and contemporary universal principles of law. They are expected to be fully-fledged, open-minded and fair and possessed with the capability of enhancing the social developments both in their own society and in the world so as to interpret them accurately and appropriately, and regard scientific data as a basis for their studies or research and are able to take their place in society as legal practitioners or legal counsellors or consultants for private, public or international companies or institutions as well as the State Departments, Universities and other Academic Institutions.
