Hilmi Dindar was born in 1986 in Nicosia, Cyprus. He graduated from high school (Türk Maarif Koleji in Nicosia) in 2003. He received his B.Sc. degree in Geophysical Engineering Department from Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey in 2007 and M.Sc. Degree in Geophysical Engineering from The Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences of Dokuz Eylul University in 2010. He was placed in TUBITAK 1007 project in İzmir city of Turkey, during his master thesis. His teaching and research interests include applied geophysics, earthquake and soil interaction. He begun to study Ph.D. in 2011 and continues to his project. He will finish his Ph.D. very early. He is a staff member of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department of Near East University. He is working as a lecturer at the Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department of the Near East University. Special interests of him include the interaction of earthquake soil and structure. Among the study topics, Multi-Channel Analysis of Surface Waves, Vertical Electrical Sondage methods, Electrical Tomography, active and passive seismic methods for surveying underground formations are included. He is a member of board in the Earthscience Engineers from 2014 onwards.
