Dr. Burak Kulga holds Ph.D. and M.S. Degrees from Penn State University and a B.S. Degree from METU Ankara, all in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. He also holds an M.S. degree in Energy Science and Technologies from Istanbul Technical University. His research work consisted of numerical modeling and reservoir simulations in oil and gas reservoirs as well as geothermal reservoirs, His research area also includes carbon dioxide sequestration in geological formations and applications of artificial intelligence in oil and gas industry.

He, previously, worked as a reservoir simulation engineer at BM Holding, a company that focuses on geothermal projects and investments in Turkey and Eastern Africa. He also worked as a production and stimulation engineer at Schlumberger in the USA, as a reservoir simulation engineer at Chevron, in the USA and as a production engineer at PEMI (now Translatlantic Petroleum) in Turkey. His industry experience includes a wide range of activities including supervising production and drilling operations in Southeastern Turkey, designing hydraulic fracture operations and fluids for shale reservoirs in Ohio, Colorado and Wyoming, uncertainty analysis and probabilistic forecasts for reservoir simulation models, development of full-field geothermal reservoir models, and analysis of geothermal well tests.
