Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim SOLMAZ

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Solmaz obtained his B.Sc. degree from Middle East Technical University (METU) from the Department of Aerospace Engineering in 2001. Later, he completed his M.Sc. degree from Purdue University-West Lafayette, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2003. Then, he pursued his Ph.D. from the Department of Electronic Engineering of the National University of Ireland-Maynooth (NUIM), in 2008. His Ph.D. studies were focused on active safety control system analysis and design for automotive vehicles. Subsequent to his graduation from the Ph.D. programme, he continued to work on this topic as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the Hamilton Institute in NUIM. Dr. Solmaz also graduated from Anadolu University (Open University) Electric Energy Generation, Transmission and Distribution Program in 2013. He was appointed as Associate Prof. in 2013 and joined Department of Automotive Engineering of Near East University in 2017. He continues his research and academic activities in this department. His current research areas include electric and hybrid vehicle systems, control system design, renewable energy systems and unmanned ground and air vehicles. Also, he is currently leading and contributing to many research projects on the above mentioned topics.
