He was born in Nicosia, Cyprus on 14th September 1963. After he graduated from Turk Maarif Collage in 1981 he continued his higher education in 9 Eylül University, Engineering Faculty, Mechanical Engineering Department. He received his B.Sc. degree in 1981 as the first in the class rank. Then for his graduate level studies he attended Middle East Technical University, Engineering Faculty, Mechanical Engineering Department, and received his M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees in 1988 and 1995, respectively.

During his graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering Department of METU, he worked as a research assistant and had duties in heat transfer, thermodynamic, heating ventilating air conditioning & refrigeration lectures. In addition, he worked as teaching assistant and he offered Fortran and Pascal Programming Languages. Natural convection heat transfer and forced convection his transfer were his major studies. He worked as a research and development engineer in Arçelik Air Conditioner Plant, Istanbul, between 1996 and 2000, and also in Arçelik-LG Joint Venture Air Conditioner Plant, Kocaeli, between 2000 and 2002. Afterwards until 2003 he worked as Daikin Air Conditioning Systems Training Supervisor in Teba Isıtma Soğutma Klima Teknolojileri San.Tic. A.Ş, İstabul.

He returned back to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 2003. From 2003 to 2005, he worked in Near East University, Engineering Faculty, Mechanical Engineering Department as a part-time lecturer. Meanwhile, between 2004 and 2005 he worked as a Technical Manager in Rocks Hotel and Casino, Kyrenia. In 2006 he was accepted as a full time instructor in Mechanical Engineering Department of NEU. Between 2006 and 2011 he was appointed as Vice-Chairman. He is still teaching.
