Was born February 28th 1987 in Nicosia, Cyprus. Her father was an accountant and mother a housewife. Eminel Sülün completed her primary, middle, and high school education in Güzelyurt, Cyprus. She received her BA in Sociology from Middle East Technical University, METU, Ankara, Turkey in 2008 and her MA in International Politics from University of BATH, UK in 2009. In 2010, she got acceptance for the Ph.D. programme in International Relations in Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. In 2012, she successfully passed the comprehensive exam in her PhD programme and started writing her Ph.D. theses.
She received her Ph.D. in International Relations in January 2016. In the meantime, between September 2012- June 2016, Eminel Sülün taught at Eastern Mediterranean University as a part-time member of staff in Political Science and International Relations Department. In 2014, she received International Studies Association (ISA) Travel Grant for the ISA Annual Conference, 2014, Toronto, Canada. In 2015, Eminel Sülün again received International Studies Association (ISA) Travel Grant for the ISA Annual Conference, 2015, New Orleans, USA. She presented in both conferences. In September 2016, Eminel Sülün started teaching at Near East University as a full-time faculty member in International Relations Department. She is currently researching on security and eastern Mediterranean politics. She is married.
