Aims and Objectives
Department of Turkish Language and Literature, which started training in 1994, aims to educate people who are fully competent in speaking and writing in their native language, assimilate their literature and culture in accordance with the statement of Ataturk, “The establishment ground of Republic of Turkey is culture”, and by introducing the Turkish language and literature in the widest spectrum to its students starting from the very beginning of foundations of Turkish language and literature.
Students graduating from Department of Turkish Language and Literature can be recruited as subject specialist teachers in Turkish language and literature programs provided that they attend the non-thesis MA program of field teaching. Apart from this, our graduates can be recruited as journalists, text writers, programmers, and can also find employment opportunities in public relations departments and radio and TV sectors.
A program through which various terms of the Turkish language and literature are explored and studied is carried out under the supervision of a highly qualified teaching staff. Students have the opportunity to study a compulsory foreign language course which they have already studied in their previous education such as English, French or German in order to develop proficiency in a foreign language, too. Courses of Elocution-Oratory is also given within the program.
