Assist. Prof. Dr. Deniz ERGÜN

Deniz Ergün was born in Germany in 1978. She completed her primary, middle, and high school education in İzmir Private Fatih College (1984-1995). She graduated from Near East University Psychology Department in 2001. She graduated from Near East University Psychological Counselling and Guidance Master Program in 2004. She graduated from Near East University Clinical Psychology Master Program in 2006. She graduated from Social Sciences Department of İstanbul University Forensic Medicine Institute in 2011. In 2017, she was awarded the title of Assistant Professor at Near East University.

“Child Abuse and Relation with Depression”, “Comparing Psychological Responses of Internally Displaced and Non-displaced Turkish Cypriots” and “The Prevalence and Risk Factors of Bullying Among Middle School, 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Students in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” are topics of her thesis.
She is working as a lecturer in Near East University Psychology Department since 2003. In 2017, she was appointed as the Vice-Director of Institute of Forensic Sciences, Near East University. She was a member of the commission dealing with drug addiction problems at the ‘TRNC Higher Education, Planning, Inspection, Accreditation and Coordination Council’ and also she was vice-president of Turkish Cypriot Psychology Association. She is the president of Cyprus Psychotherapy Association. In addition, she is a positive psychotherapist and family therapist, positive psychotherapy basic and master trainer, and psychodrama co-therapist.
