Fahriye Altınay was born in Nicosia on 26 March 1982. She completed her secondary school in 1999 at Gazi Mağusa Türk Maarif College. She completed bachelor degree in the Faculty of Communication from the field of Public Relations and Advertising. She gained a master degree in the field of Educational Technology, Distance Education in Educational Sciences. Then, she completed PhD degree in Educational Administration and Management at Near East University in 2008. In addition, she completed another doctorate programme in the field of Educational Technology at Middlesex University. She has started teaching and research activities while she was research assistant in 2002. Fahriye Altinay became a full time lecturer at Near East University and she is working as Assoc. Prof Dr. at Atatürk Education Faculty. She is teaching doctorate, graduate and undergraduate degree courses. Further to this, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fahriye Altınay is the Director of Societal Research and Development Center. She is board member of Distance Education Center. Fahriye Altınay is the section editor in Education and Science Journal which is SSCI journal. Fahriye Altınay has two (2) national academic content book published by reputable publishing houses. Further to this, she has two (2) international academic content books. In addition, she has one (3) international book chapter published by reputable publishing house. Fahriye Altınay has six (6) articles which were indexed at Social Sciences Index (SSCI) and seven (7) international articles that were indexed at the Educational field indexes (British Education Index, ERIC, Science Direct, Scopus, etc.). She has two (2) national publications. There also are ten (13) academic presentations and reports at international conferences. She worked as active researcher in four (4) research projects that were funded by Ministry of Education. She has role in higher education, quality assurance and accreditation for the university. She has editorial role in respected journals and she is the reviewer of ten (11) journals. She is the member of British Educational Research Association, E-learning Association, Association of Educational Communication and Technology, GUIDE, etc.
