I was born in Kabataş, Ordu on 1 January 1974. My family and I moved to Bafra, Samsun in 1972. I studied in the primary school in Uluağaç, Bafra. After that I studied in Sürmeli secondary school and then attended Bafra Lycee’. I studied Geography in the ‘Science-Art’ department at Atatürk University and gratuated in the year 1994. In the same year I was appointed as a teacher in Diyarbakır. I started working as a research assistant in the ‘Science and Art’ department at Ataturk University. Later I did my Master’s degree in 1996 and completed my PhD in 2002.
I was appointed as an assistant professor in January 2003. I coordinaated the cultural activities in the ‘Science and Art’ faculty at Ataturk University between 2004 and 2009. Numerous articles of mine have been published both in local and international journals.
I was the assistant head of the Geography department between 2008 and 2009. I have been the head of Geography Teaching department at Ataturk Education Faculty at the Near East University since 2009.
