A comprehensive academic protocol was signed between the Near East University and University of Science and Technology from Yemen in order to carry out comprehensive academic cooperation between two higher education institutions.

According to a press statement released by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of the Near East University, an academic cooperation protocol was signed between the Near East University and the University of Science and Technology from Yemen in order to carry out comprehensive cooperation and joint projects in scientific, academic, and cultural issues as well as in all fields of education and art studies, exchange students and academic staff, organize events such as conferences, research activities, scientific and technical trips as well as sports activities. The protocol was signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan Günsel, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Near East University, and Hameed M. Y. Aklan, Rector of University of Science and Technology.
