Faculty of Medicine of Near East University was represented at the 38th Turkish National Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Surgery Congress

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the 38th Turkish National Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Surgery Congress was held in Antalya Turkey and that Academic Member of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Prof. Dr. Mustafa Asım Şafak and Op. Dr. Hasan Şafakoğulları represented the Near East University via 3 presentations of worldly significance. It was added that the presentations drew a lot of interest and that they were invited to make a scientific publication. Providing more information regarding the congress, it was stated that meetings were held at eight different halls and alongside Turkish contributors, there was a high number of participance from many different other countries.

“Workshops for Computer Hardware” between Computer Engineering Department and Supercomputer administrators

During the workshops; the architecture of the Supercomputer and how it’s instructions are processed by a parallel architecture were explained, how the Supercomputer consists of individual computers called blades which each blade consist of its own RAMs and CPUs which designed with four power supplies where they have a blade center which was shown to the students, All the blades of the Supercomputer are connected by using a 40 Gbps infiniband switch and each bladecenter has cooling systems behind, apart from the conventional air conditioner and this was also shown to the students. During the workshop the students understood that alot of blades which work parallely together gives the performance of one single Supercomputer, the blades in the supercomputer also individually comprise of normal computer components like the RAM’s which give the performance of one powerful computer. The students also learnt that the Supercomputer’s reputation depends on the switch which is very unique in Cyprus and it has a speed of 40 Gbps per second for data transfer, further it was explained to the students that the Supercomputer also has components very importantly called firewalls which give access, authorization and also gives security to the connected networks to the supercomputer.

Chairman of the Managing Board of Atlas Global Murat Ersoy was hosted at the “Pioneers of the Sector” Seminar Series of Near East University

Ersoy made a speech at Near East University on the past and today of the aviation sector….. As part of the seminar series themed as “Pioneers of the Sector” of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management of Near East University, a seminar titled as “The Past-and Today of the Aviation Sector” was held at Hall 101 of Near East University Hospital. According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, as one of the most significant sectors of today, developments and future projections in the field of tourism were discussed at the seminar. Furthermore, possible precautions and steps that are needed to be taken in the future were considered. In addition to the above, it was pointed out that the seminar had been held at the helm of Head of School of Tourism and Hotel Management of Near East University and Tourism Research Centre Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tülen Saner to which well renown pioneer of the sector, Chairman of the Managing Board of Atlas Global, Murat Ersoy brought valuable insights.

Turkish foreign policy in negotiating process and the future of Cyprus to be discussed at Near East University

Retired Ambassador Ünal Çeviköz will evaluate the Cyprus issue and the security of Cyprus in the light of the basic parameters of Turkish foreign policy at the Second Security Academy held by the Near East Institute at Near East University. . Retired Ambassador Ünal Çeviköz will meet with program participants in the Near Eastern University Security Academy certificate program of the Near East University. NEU Near East Institute NEI Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ambassador Umut Koldaş is directing the organization where the retired ambassador Ünal Ceviköz will give a seminar entitled “Basic Parameters of Turkish Foreign Policy and Cyprus”, which will be delivered as part of the Institute’s “Security Academy” certificate program on 26 November 2016. The seminar will take place at the Grand Library Hall of Near East University 4 at 10.00.

Near East University Faculty of Sciences and Arts along with Atatürk Faculty of Education organized a panel collaboratively and celebrated the 33rd anniversary of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Department of School Teaching, Department of History Teaching, Department of Social Sciences, and Department of Turkish Language Teaching that affiliated with Atatürk Faculty of Education, and the Department of History and the Department of Turkish Language & Literature that affiliated with the Faculty of Sciences and Arts contributed to the panel. According to the press info released by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the Near East University, Atatürk Faculty of Education and Faculty of Arts and Sciences held a panel and celebrated the 33rd anniversary of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
